My name is Gabby Royal, I am a hybrid athlete, strategist, and fitness professional. In December 2025, at age 35, I received the unexpected news that I had been diagnosed with mucinous ovarian carcinoma, a rare subtype of ovarian cancer. I am currently in treatment, and processing what comes next. Participating in the 2026 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon while representing Tell Every Amazing Lady®means the world to me as a runner called to a new mission. Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s work, bridging community, awareness, and access to education about ovarian cancer, has reminded me that even in moments of shock and uncertainty, we are not alone. Representing this incredible organization and showing up to this race is my way of honoring and helping shine a light on diagnoses that too often go unseen. Part of my backstory, I am the founder of LAYOR, a New York City-based movement and leadership practice built on listening to the body and respecting what it quietly carries. As a Black LGBTQIA+ woman, a personal trainer, and former corporate executive, I have spent years pushing through pressure before learning that the body keeps its own record of what we endure. My mission revolves around service. I believe there is power in listening to your body and honoring what it quietly reveals, without losing momentum or purpose. Representing Tell Every Amazing Lady® in the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon is part of that choice for me: a commitment to show up fully in my body, to move with intention and courage, and to stand for the truth that strength is built when we listen to ourselves, honor what we carry, and keep moving forward together.
