13 years ago, my aunt succumbed to this cancer I had never heard of. 3 years ago, a close friend who had been complaining for years about not feeling right, was finally diagnosed with the same stage 4 cancer. 3 months ago, my cousin too discovered she has late-stage ovarian cancer. Why do so many go so long without proper testing to discover the illness? Why is there not a cure? I don’t want to change one thing, but two. We need to have early testing and a cure. Let’s give all the Amazing Ladies a far better chance of beating this disease once and for all. Medicine has done it for Breast cancer, let’s do it for Ovarian cancer too. My running goal is to be present and enjoy the family of runners. A good time would be nice but running in the city where I’ve spent career driving will be a new experience. And please, anyone who has a 6th sense that somethings not right, see a Dr. and check it out. This is the best we have until tests are developed.
